Coronavirus Information (COVID-19)
I will continue to update this page with the latest communication and resources as it becomes available.
A message from SRTA. MOORE
Querido Parents and Students,
I know these are difficult times. I care deeply about the safety and well-being of your family. I thank you for your ongoing support to continue the home/school partnership. Please know I am available via email. If you need to speak to me, please email me a phone number that is best to reach you at and I will contact you. Since mid-March school schedules in New York State have been determined through a series of Governor's orders. These orders closed in-person schooling and moved us to a virtual plan for continuing learning. My revised teaching program will deliver live instruction, blended with recorded lessons and the use of multiple digital platforms. I am here to support students and families through numerous outreach efforts such as calls, videoconferences, and 1:1 meetings. I will continue to provide my utmost effort to give the best instruction and support I can offer in these challenging times. Below is the link to the Coronavirus Information (COVID-19) on the District Website which includes Letters from the Superintendent of Schools. Consistent with the Governor's orders we continued our continuity of learning through the planned Spring Recess to provide instruction. The 2019-2020 school calendar held 183 school days. In light of the revised schedule, we will reach that 183rd day on June 16. Therefore, June 16, 2020 will be the last day of school. Attached are the Spanish assignments for each grade. I have provided these assignments with the understanding that all families are experiencing different situations in their homes, not with the intention to overwhelm you. If you are having difficulty completing the assignments, please contact me and I will make necessary accommodations. The activities on my links tab are suggestions, and are intended to provide a fun break from schoolwork. Many are great for the whole family to enjoy together. Stay well, Señorita Moore |
Internet Access For Households Lacking Connectivity:
Altice (formerly Cablevision) is offering a free internet product for households currently without Internet access. If your household is eligible and interested in enrolling, parents are asked to call 866-200-9522. Through the prompts, select New Customer / New Service / New Internet.
When households call, please indicate that you are calling about "free Internet service". Households will be asked to vouch that they have a K-12 or college student residing in the household and do not currently have Internet access. There is no installation fee or out of pocket costs for 60 days (as of March 18, 2020). If the address of the household has an outstanding balance from another account, there is a chance that your request may be denied unless the balance can be paid.
Please note that Bethpage Schools is not endorsing Internet access from Altice or any specific provider and not involved in procurement process. This is an agreement and offer that is strictly between the Altice and the household.

Continuity of Instruction Plan
The goal of this plan is to provide guidance and support to faculty, students, and families as we work together during this time of extended school closure.
Distance Learning Virtual Office Hours
To provide additional support for the students during the school closure, the school has established a set schedule of times for students to check-in with a faculty member for assistance with their academic needs. Students may ask questions and seek help for material they may have difficulty understanding. The schedule for John F. Kennedy Middle School is below:
